A day we're unwilling to remember but have to
I have never been a true fan of baseball until today
or not realized it until today
I always thought I watch basebal because you love it
Yes, but not until today I found a reason that makes more sense to me
It's a day we don't ever want to remember, but have to in order to honor the captain
today, game 1 of ALCS, Yanks trailed 0-4 in the ninth inning,
with a hit by Jeter and 2 homeruns by Ichiro and Ibanez (his third within 3 days)
The Yanks tied the game 4-4 entering extra inning.
In the 12th inning, Tigers scored 2 (which doesn't even matter right now)
and the Captain factured his ankle and had to be helped off
we shook our heads in front of the screens, in two different places.
The Yankees lost the game after the Captain was "carried" off
It's a roller-coaster. Every game could be a roller-coaster. But this one is different.
We couldn't believe what happened when Ibanez hit the game-tying hime run.
We had a even harder time to believe what just happened to the Captain when we are losing
We simply couldn't believe it.
I wish we lost in the ninth inning, instead of going to the 12th and got the hottie captain injuired.
And right now, it's raining outside at 3am, and this week there was the first time I seriously thought of quitting school and start something by myself
I was frustrated, bored, depressed, homesick, lovesick and heartbroke
The only thing, and the thing I appreciate the most is that
I know I have you.
Non-sports fan never understand it.
I think sports is about value, the value I believe in
So I never support a rich team
but you also think that sports is about value, the value we believe in,
so you love the Yankees
because they are willing to spend money on winning and having valuable players in the roster
Not until today when I sat in front of the TV in disbelief
wondering how the Yankees got here losing this one and most importantly the one ond only Captain,
and heartache, the same ache as CP3 and LA went down for the whole season
I realized I'm a true baseball fan now.
Now I found another reason why I'm a fan of the Yankees and baseball,
not because of you
it's only because of you
Non-sports fan never understand the heartache as a guy like Jeter went down
That's why we need to be with someone who share the same passion and values of ourselves
someone who understands the heroism and feels the heartache as we do
and most importantly, someone who feel you at the end of everyday
We need to live together please
for a moment like this.
